METI approves 10 billion yen for foreign companies

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) recently approved five foreign companies to receive subsidies from the government as part of their “New Growth Strategy Program”.  Among the companies is Salesforce.com, an American IT company.  Subsidies range from 10s to 100s of millions of yen and are meant for companies who will establish bases of research and development in Japan.  The five companies will bring into Japan a combined total of about 10 billion yen in investment.

Companies to receive investment incentive subsidies from the government:

  • Salesforce.com (IT), US
  • Zydus Cadila (pharmaceuticals), India
  • Dyesol (next-gen solar batteries), Australia
  • Eurocopter (aerospace), France
  • Dou Yee International (LCD maker), Singapore

There are many other subsidy and low-interest lending programs available in Japan for foreign companies.  Z’xent Pro has a team dedicated to keeping up with the latest changes and opportunities, so please feel free to contact us to see what programs you can take advantage of.
